IPDI

Isophorone diisocyanate is a raw material in the production of polyurethanes and is contained in paints. It is particularly suitable for applications that require high resistance to weathering and chemicals.

Our IPDI at a glance

  • Coatings, especially UV and light-resistant coatings
  • Hardener for two-component coatings
  • Production of polyisocyanates and polyurethanes
  • Adhesives
  • Textile finishing and coatings
  • Coatings, UV Coatings, Light- & UV-Resistant Coatings
(Aliphatic and cycloaliphatic isocyanates are predominantly used in coatings due to their light resistance. While these coatings are characterized by high hardness, they tend to become brittle under mechanical stress. The flexibility of the substances can be adjusted by using alternative amino alcohols. The most important representatives include IPDI and HDI.)

  • Hardeners for Two-Component Coatings

  • Production of Polyisocyanates and Polyurethanes
(Polyaddition reactions of polyisocyanates are used, involving only a few isocyanate components:

    • HDI: Hexamethylene diisocyanate
    • TDI: Toluene diisocyanate
    • MDI: Methylene diphenyl diisocyanate
    • PMDI: Polymeric diphenylmethane diisocyanate
    • NDI: Naphthalene diisocyanate)
    • IPDI: Isophorone Diisocyanate
    • H12MDI: 4,4'-Diisocyanato dicyclohexylmethane

Colorless to slightly yellow liquid, pungent odor
